Building on an empty lot in an established neighborhood, this duplex is inspired by the numerous architectural styles that developed in the area since the early part of the 20th century. One of the first certified NetZero projects in Vancouver, it brings together multiple energy saving technologies to ensure this house can provide for itself for years to come. Solar panels on the roof with high performance windows, thickly insulated walls and superior airtightness mean these homes produces all the energy they need on site. Light gardens bring sun deep into the centre of the floorplan and the result is a home that offers a unique relationship to the outdoors.
