Hood Point House
Bowen Island, BC
2018 completion
Previous Firm: PUBLIC Architecture + Communication
Role: Project Architect
This island retreat provides calm sweeping views of Howe Sound in counterpoint to a bustling interior life of extended family gatherings. Cooking and dining are at the heart of any large family and these spaces occupy the very centre of the house. A small wing to the east gives the host couple privacy and a quiet respite while proceeding generations take over the tall volume to the west. There, bedrooms, washrooms, a small kitchen, and a sleeping loft for the grandkids create an efficient camp-like atmosphere. The house comes together through interconnected patios, gardens and terraces for all to enjoy.
